Zen Master Ji Haeng (Thom Pastor)

Thom Pastor JDPSN, is founder (1994) and abbot of the Zen Center of Las Vegas (ZCLV). He began his formal study in the Kwan Um School of Zen in the late 1980's with Zen Master Ji Bong and subsequently received inka from Zen Master Seung Sahn on April 6, 2002.
In addition to teaching responsibilities at ZCLV, Thom is also the guiding teacher of the Isthmus Zen Community in Madison, WI. He has been a frequent teacher in Vancouver, BC, and has led retreats in Los Angeles, Fairbanks, Denver, Pittsburgh, Tallahassee, and South Florida. For close to two decades, Thom teaches an Introduction to Zen Buddhism class each semester at UNLV. He also initiated a Zen meditation program at Federal Prison Nellis. The program claims one of the highest attendance rates of any volunteer program at that facility. Thom has given talks in Singapore and co-led a YMJJ in Pengerang, Malaysia with Zen Master Dae Kwang.

As a professional musician, Thom has performed with over 100 internationally known recording and show business luminaries. An alumnus of the famed Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, Thom currently performs with a jazz quartet, The B3 Conspiracy most Sunday afternoons in the Las Vegas area.
